Is SmartGradeAI free to use?

Yes, SmartGradeAI is completely free for all POLIMAS students and staff members. It is provided as part of the institution's digital learning infrastructure.

What browsers are supported?

SmartGradeAI works best on modern browsers including Google Chrome (version 90+), Mozilla Firefox (version 88+), Microsoft Edge (version 90+), and Safari (version 14+). We recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser for the best experience.

Is SmartGradeAI mobile-friendly?

Yes, SmartGradeAI is fully responsive and works on all devices including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers. You can access all features from any device with an internet connection.

Account & Login

How do I create an account?

Accounts are created by the POLIMAS IT department. Students and lecturers should use their institutional credentials to log in. If you don't have an account, please contact the IT helpdesk.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click on the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. Enter your registered email address, and you'll receive instructions to reset your password. If you continue to have issues, contact the IT support team.

Can I change my username?

Usernames are typically your student or staff ID and cannot be changed. However, you can update your display name and other profile information from your account settings.

How do I update my profile information?

After logging in, go to your profile settings by clicking on your name in the top right corner and selecting "My Profile". From there, you can update your personal information, profile picture, and preferences.

Is my account information secure?

For Students

How do I take a quiz?

Log in to your account and go to the "Quizzes" section. You'll see all available quizzes for your enrolled courses. Click "Start Quiz" to begin. Make sure to complete the quiz before the deadline.

Can I save my answers and continue later?

For most quizzes, your answers are auto-saved every few seconds. However, once you start a timed quiz, you must complete it in one session. Check the quiz instructions for specific requirements.

How do I view my grades?

Navigate to the "Grades" section in your dashboard to see all your graded submissions. You can filter by course and view detailed feedback for each quiz.

What happens if I miss a quiz deadline?

If you miss a deadline, you may not be able to submit the quiz. Contact your lecturer immediately to discuss possible alternatives. Some quizzes may allow late submissions with penalties.

Can I retake a quiz?

How do I create a quiz using AI?

Go to "Quizzes" and click "Create New Quiz". Select "AI Generation" and provide the topic, difficulty level, and number of questions for each type. The AI will generate questions that you can review and edit before publishing.

Can I edit AI-generated questions?

Yes, all AI-generated questions can be edited. After generation, you can modify questions, answers, marks, and explanations to better suit your requirements.

How does AI-assisted grading work?

For subjective questions, the AI analyzes student answers and provides suggested scores and feedback based on your grading criteria. You can accept, modify, or override these suggestions before finalizing grades.

Can I import questions from other sources?

Yes, you can import questions from Excel, CSV files, or copy from our question bank. Go to "Create Quiz" and select "Import Questions" for detailed instructions on formatting.

How do I manage multiple courses?

Your dashboard shows all courses assigned to you. You can switch between courses using the course selector, and each course has its own quizzes, students, and grades.

Can I set different quiz settings for different students?

Currently, quiz settings apply to all students in a course. However, you can create separate quizzes with different settings or provide special accommodations through the system administrator.

Technical Issues

The system is running slowly. What can I do?

Try clearing your browser cache, ensuring you have a stable internet connection, and closing unnecessary browser tabs. If problems persist, try using a different browser or contact IT support.

I can't upload files. What's wrong?

Check that your file meets the size requirements (maximum 10MB) and is in an accepted format (PDF, DOC, DOCX, etc.). Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Large files may take time to upload.

My quiz timer isn't working correctly.

The timer relies on JavaScript. Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser and that you're not using browser extensions that might interfere. Don't refresh the page during a timed quiz.

I'm getting an error message. What should I do?

Take a screenshot of the error message and note what you were doing when it occurred. Contact IT support with this information for assistance.

Can I use SmartGradeAI offline?

How accurate is the AI in generating questions?

Is there a limit to AI usage?

How does the AI ensure question quality?
